The Bengals have had many down years recently. From 1990-2002, they were the losingest NFL franchise. In the 1980's, the Bengals went to the Super Bowl twice with unfortunate results. They lost to the 49ers both times. They were two of the most narrow margins in the Niners dynasty. The past two seasons, under the guidance of Marvin Lewis, the Bengals have been on an upward slope.
